1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the Kiindmate platform, including our website and mobile application, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use our services.

2. About Kiindmate

Kiindmate is a platform that connects individuals seeking non-medical companionship with independent companions. We are not a healthcare provider, staffing agency, or employer of companions. We facilitate connections between users and companions who offer social, emotional, and practical support.

3. Eligibility

To use Kiindmate, you must:

• Be at least 18 years of age
• Be a resident of Canada
• Provide accurate and complete registration information
• Maintain the security of your account credentials

4. Companion Services

Companions on Kiindmate provide non-medical companionship services only. These may include but are not limited to:

• Social visits, conversation, and recreational activities
• Assistance with errands, light housekeeping, and meal preparation
• Compassionate companionship and mindfulness activities
• Accompaniment to appointments and outings
• Support for new parents with daily tasks

Companions do not provide medical care, nursing, therapy, or any regulated healthcare services. Kiindmate is not a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.

5. Companion Verification

All companions undergo identity verification and background screening before being approved on the platform. Background checks are conducted through Certn, a certified Canadian screening provider, and include criminal record verification. Results typically take 1–5 business days, during which companions remain in "Pending Review" status.

While we take reasonable steps to verify companions, we do not guarantee the accuracy of all information provided by users or companions. You are encouraged to review companion profiles and ratings before booking.

6. Bookings & Payments

Companions set their own rates, which are displayed on their profiles. When you book a visit, you agree to pay the listed rate plus any applicable platform service fee, which is displayed before you confirm your booking.

Payments are processed securely through Stripe. Your payment is authorized at the time of booking and captured after the visit is completed. Tips are optional and are passed directly to the companion.

7. Cancellation & Refund Policy

Cancellation terms depend on when you cancel relative to your scheduled visit:

• 24+ hours before: Full refund
• Within 24 hours: Subject to a cancellation fee
• No-shows: You may be charged the full booking amount

If you have concerns about a visit, you may raise a dispute within 48 hours of visit completion through the platform.

8. User Conduct

You agree not to:

• Use the platform for any unlawful purpose
• Harass, abuse, or harm another user or companion
• Provide false or misleading information
• Attempt to circumvent the platform to avoid fees
• Use the platform to solicit medical or healthcare services

9. Intellectual Property

All content, design, trademarks, and other intellectual property on the Kiindmate platform are owned by Kiindmate. You retain ownership of any content you submit (such as profile information and messages), but grant Kiindmate a non-exclusive licence to display and use it in connection with the platform.

10. Limitation of Liability

Kiindmate acts as a platform connecting users with companions. We are not liable for any damages, injuries, or disputes that arise between users and companions during or after visits. Companions are independent contractors and are not employees or agents of Kiindmate.

11. Dispute Resolution

If a dispute arises between you and another user, we encourage you to first use the platform's reporting system. Kiindmate may review and mediate disputes at its discretion but is not obligated to do so. These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario, Canada, and any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Ontario.

12. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account at any time if you violate these terms or engage in behaviour that is harmful to other users, companions, or the platform. You may also delete your account at any time through the app.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we will notify you through the app or by email. Continued use of the platform after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
